1. Drone Photography and Videography

In the ever-evolving landscape of wedding photography and videography, a trend that has taken couples’ love stories to new heights– quite literally! Drone photography and aerial shot have been a game-changer for both the client and professionals. It offers a breathtaking perspective that was once only imaginable in dreams.

Imagine the sun-kissed sky framing the couple as they exchange vows in a sprawling countryside, or the stunning panorama of an oceanfront destination wedding captured from above. With drones gracefully navigating the skies, wedding photographers and videographers can now create captivating narratives that surpass the traditional!

2. Cinematic Wedding Films

Gone are the days of dull and mundane wedding videography– cinematic wedding film brings a kind of magic to couples with a heartwarming tale of love. With carefully crafted shots, expertly composed storylines, and the seamless fusion of music and visuals, these films convey viewers to a world where emotions unfold like scenes from an epic movie.

Nowadays, couples opt for professionally edited wedding films that resemble cinematic masterpieces, telling their love story in a captivating and emotional way. Hence, knowing more about cinematic films will significantly contribute to your career in the wedding industry.

3. Candid and Photojournalistic Style

In the wedding industry, keeping things real is a beautiful way to show authenticity and sincerity. This is why a beautiful trend of candid and photojournalistic style photography and videography has become evident nowadays since it captures raw emotions and real interaction of your big day!

A lot of couples would very much prefer this idea especially if you’re someone who is not comfortable with posing in the camera or if you don’t like forced and fake smiles– this style is perfect for couples who want a natural style in their moments. To also achieve this, having a skilled photographer and/or videographer can discreetly tell your love story, freezing heartfelt embraces, tears of joy, and all the little details that make your wedding unique.

With this beautiful approach, you can get an authentic and heartfelt narrative that you’ll treasure forever such as this video that I am going to share with you!

4. Pre-wedding/Engagement Photoshoots

This type of trend is a must-have if it fits your budget! Couples often do a separate photoshoot before the wedding day which we call pre-wedding/engagement photoshoots. From romantic outdoor locations to cozy indoor settings, these shoots offer a canvas for couples to express their love and personalities.

This trend not only has become a cherished tradition but also adds a beautiful chapter to a couple’s love story in an intimate setting. During these sessions, the couples will have the chance to build rapport with their photographers and videographers which can create a comfortable space that will bring out their natural chemistry! With this, you will also be able to decide whether you’re gonna choose that same photographer or videographer to capture your wedding day.

5. Intimate and Micro-Weddings

It has always been the tradition to invite every family member and relative to your big day even if it meant that you’ll have to be paying more for people who you barely even know!  However, the trend of having elopement or intimate weddings has been popularized nowadays as more couples prefer a wedding that is small, sincere, and special to them rather than inviting more people that’s not even memorable for them.

With a smaller guest list, this allows the photographer and videographer to capture moments and emotions more easily as this creates a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere. They can delve deeper into the couple's journey, capturing the emotions, interactions, and connections between the couple and their loved ones with fewer distractions.

Not only that, intimate and micro-wedding photography and videography styles lean towards a documentary style approach that focused on candid, unposed shots that capture genuine emotions and interactions between the couple and the guests. Plus most unique locations often accommodate fewer guests which makes it even more ideal to have an intimate or micro-wedding!

6. Inclusion of Nature

Nature-inspired photography, like forest or beach weddings, has gained popularity as couples seek unique and beautiful settings. Not only does this trend promote environmental awareness but also promotes the beauty of including nature in your photography or videography!

More couples have been choosing a type of adventure wedding or elopement where they would exchange vows in stunning outdoor locations such as the mountains, beaches, national parks, or other breathtaking landscapes. This trend allowed photographers and videographers to capture awe-inspiring backdrops that added to the romance and intimacy of the moment.

Moreover, the natural light that nature could give is highly valued in the wedding industry as it cost less with the equipment and it is much better to edit photos that have natural lighting for better quality.

7. Bridal Portrait Sessions

Bridal Portrait Sessions is a trend that is already popular but is continuously growing as it is an amazing way to be comfortable in front of the camera and it allows the bride to be confident all throughout the wedding. This session gives the bride a chance to showcase her wedding dress, hair, makeup, and overall bridal look in a relaxed environment.

Bridal portrait sessions also provide a more personalized experience for the bride and the groom. It allows them to have quality time with their photographer and videographer, resulting in a stronger connection and more natural expressions in the final images and videos.

This trend is one way to make your wedding day memorable and special as this will be seen from generation to generation.

8. Teasers

A teaser is a trend that is a short and captivating preview of the wedding photos or video which is designed to generate excitement and anticipation for the final wedding album or full-length wedding film. The wedding photography usually has 10-20 edited pictures that couples can share on their social media and is included in the wedding package. On the other hand, the wedding videography is a 30-second to 2-minute video.

The purpose of teasers is to tell a condensed version of the wedding or the couple’s love story. These include snippets of the couple getting ready, emotional moments during the ceremony, candid shots of guests, and romantic shots of the couple.
